My name is Jason Ferguson. I started this blog in January 2013 as a place to write about music. I’ve gotten paid to write about music for more than 20 years. However, over the past few years, the hustle and hassle of getting my words into other publications has proven to be increasingly not worth it, especially when all I really want to do is weigh in on a particularly awesome (or awful) (or just interesting) piece of work.

The goal here is to write interesting things about interesting music. New things, old things, reviews, thoughts, diatribes, exegeses … but not news. “Music news” is well-handled by scores of other people, and, frankly, it’s not at all interesting.

Anyway, this thing is just getting started.
